These cities have bad schools, poor job prospects, negative business climates, and severe housing problems. They are dominated by unions which own the Democratic politicians and have burdened the residents with ridiculous union contracts in which the cities are obligated to pay outrageous union salaries and pension benefits.
Consider
that the Black folks’ movements to the South are to states which are dominated
by Republican Governors and Republican mayors. The Black population in these cities
who have a strong business orientation are benefiting from a business friendly
climate and government. Recently, when I
was in Jacksonville, Florida I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a list
of twelve Black-owned restaurants to choose from. I chose one and was very pleased with the food and the attractiveness of the restaurant.
While I think Black folks moving to the South are noteworthy, they need to leave their unintelligent voting patterns in the cities where they left. They need to appreciate the new
environment that they are now living in and take full advantage of it by voting
for the politicians that have created the environment and their successors who
are willing to maintain it and even make it better.
Specifically, they need to create new businesses, take advantage of school choice and send their children to better schools, and take advantage of state and local programs that allow them to become homeowners.
