More Member of the Black Caucus |
They act as if they and their constituents live in an alternative universe or at least in an alternative country. The truth is President Trump is the President of the United States which includes all of us.
Now let's take a look at look at the Congressional Black Caucus as members of the U.S. House and Senate.
As I wrote in Part 1, we pay these folks $175,000 per year to represent us as well as their pensions, healthcare, staff, and their office expenses. Their salary itself represents the average of at least five times the annual income of most of their constituents.
We do not send these Representatives to Congress to boycott, organize resistance activities, and talk about impeaching the President. Instead we send them there to represent our interests as their constituents. Every dollar which is spent by the government is our tax money.
The least they can do
is take the example of Jim Brown and Steve Harvey, who are not paid by us, and
establish a dialogue with Mr. Trump, establish a working relationship with him,
and begin to improve the quality of education, expand and improve affordable
housing, and increase Black businesses and economic development in the Black
inner city neighborhoods.
We want our government to spend whatever is necessary to ensure that our country is secure from all enemies who want to destroy us and make sure that our laws are evenly and fairly carried out.
As stewards of our taxes, we do not want our money squandered through waste, fraud, and abuse. If any member of Congress engages in this kind of misconduct, they need to be removed at the next election. In fact, the Congress itself ought to be term-limited just like the President.
No one has a right to a seat in neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate. They are voted in strictly to represent us and we must tell how we want to be represented. If they don’t do it properly, we should vote them out of office. It does not matter who they are. Do not refer to these politicians as leaders. If you are led by a politician, you need to be rehabilitated.
The Congressional Black Caucus represents mostly Black voters and is almost all Democrats. They are incumbents who often run unopposed or if opposed, they are opposed by other Democrats who are seriously underfunded.
These are extreme left-wingers whose policies are often against the best interests of those who they are supposed to be representing. Unfortunately the Republicans never offer any challenges to these politicians. It just a sickening mess. Nevertheles, when we elect these Democrats and don't hold them accountable, we deserve what they get.
